Aims For A New Year

This is that part of the year when we probably realize that we've screwed up it all when it comes to new year resolutions. So I am aiming to make this year somewhat different: No specific resolution, just three general aims that would make my life a bit simple and joyful.

Lets hope for some positive changes
Aim #1: Would expect reasonable changes
Life can be enjoyed the most when we enjoy every single achievement we make. So basically my first aim includes not aiming a weight reduction of 10 kg in one month, 1 kg sounds reasonable. 9 pointers sounds much impossible, probably 8 seems to be more achievable. Reasonable aims are more probable to be achieved.

No More *sob sob*
Aim #2: Won't take it personally
We miss out on enjoyment when we start taking things personally. When we learn to laugh at ourselves,we start feeling much lighter + a bonus: people who "like" you increase in numbers.

Leave laziness behind
Aim #3: Would try to run "The Extra Mile"
Probably we can do better than that what we think we can. If I think I can stay awake on exam night till 12 pm,I would try to aim half-an-hour more. I may fail at times to remain awake for half-an-hour,but may achieve 10 min. of extra study time. Isn't it an achievement? :)

Well, not much time's left before new year beginning. Without thinking much about the consequence,I begin with these three aims. Lets see what happens *fingers crossed*.

t.co v/s third party URL shortening services

Twitter's new URL shortening service has made sharing the links an easy affair. You don't need to go to a third party shortening application to shorten your links. This naturally saves time. However I found a shortcoming of this service.

When you shorten a link using t.co,you can't track the clicks.

Tracking the clicks is a healthy habit for every twitter user. It lets you know your true reach (even more than re-tweets). Also, for bloggers it is a necessity to know how many real-time clicks they get for the links the post (this info. is provided by the blogging services like blogger etc.).

The best part of third party shortening services is that they give you a complete history of clicks. Hence,it is quite a useful affair to shorten links using these services. A few of the shortening services are:

Its good to be consistent with one of these service as you'll readily get a reference and compare which of your links/at which time your link got highest clicks.

All The Best.

Cartoon Network

Last evening while changing the TV channels,I passed through a place where I'd spent half of my childhood. Yes it was the same cartoon network, with some new cartoons and some old. I got a chance to watch Tom and Jerry,of course. Those two idiots haven't changed over time, and I hope they never change.

After that 1 hour long marathon,I decided to make a list of my favorite cartoon shows. Here are few of them:

This was a hilarious family, full of ancient gadgets.

Preventing Mental Fatigue

Every time we study or perform any other activity related to the use of mind, mind usually speeds up. However, due to speeding up of mind, mental fatigue also occurs. Common signs are: irritation, depression, distractions etc. This is quite similar to over-heating of machine elements which sometimes causes malfunctioning.

In case of machine,over-heating can be avoided by shutting down machines. Similarly in case of mind, mental fatigue can be avoided by shutting down the mental activities for a while in between long sessions of work. Common ways of doing this are:
  • Listening to music
  • Chatting with friends
  • Breathing Exercise
  • Taking a walk
  • Playing outdoor games
With a proper balance between work and switching off,we can achieve optimum results.

5 twitter applications to make it simple

Twitter is one of my favorite social media tool. A place where professionalism meets social networking. The best part of twitter is: it is an open garden. Make your own stuff,do it in your own way,and no one would object. Here are five applications what makes twitter experience a simple but lovely one:

1.Tweetdeck

Tweetdeck finds itself on most of the twitter users'  fav. list. It's efficient layout ensures that you can easily perform all the twitter actions: follow/unfollow,reading tweets,re-tweeting(edited and new one) . Tweetdeck makes it all simple.

Tweepi is a great tool to manage twitter account. It comes with geeky follow: which lets you quickly add followers or friends of a particular twitter user. It also gives you option to add your followers back and unfollow the non-followers.

Manageflitter shows all the people who are not following you back. Select them at once and unfollow. Its simple and easy.

Social oomph increases your productivity on twitter. It lets you schedule tweets,auto-follow-back twitter users and much more. It comes in a free as well as in a paid version. The latter is useful for those who want to promote their brand etc. on twitter.

This is a super cool application for bloggers. Many bloggers write their blog posts at once and then schedule the posts. Once you feed the rss feed of the blog to this application,it directly posts the blog post to your twitter account, minimizing your efforts.

Welcome to engineering life

Before five months it all begun. Life got exposed to the gas burner,at the same time I made friendship with a sly enemy called complacency. And after four years,I'd become a member of the country's growing league of IT-professionals.

Learning Management
There wasn't a super-manager called "mummy" to handle things. It was the first attempt when situations forced me to learn management skills.

Normal Life
Tea Sessions
Getting up at 8'o clock and then rushing to the tea shop. Again there is no mummy to make tea and breakfast  Nylon Khamman/Samosa-chautney/vada-pav fills up our empty morning stomach. "Cutting Chai" becomes the tonic to wake up.

College Time
College is a place to sincerely show our complacency skills. If we are done with all the sleep at first bench (exactly! I never got caught) we make an effort to find out which lecture is going on,which probably drives us towards a more sound sleep.

Items
This part of college life cannot be ignored, and I won't like to elaborate much. If we looked so unexpectedly energetic,it is all due to these 'college ki kudiyaan'(girls).

Labs
Labs are what interests the engineer in me. Performing experiments, jotting down procedure and observations and then spending the rest of the time dozing off.

Eating time
Lunch breaks usually witness hungry lions coming out of their den after sleeping. (A matter of delight for the Canteen wallah).

Mass Bunking
If dozing off in class becomes boring, then we use our discretion to cut the classes and play cricket.(And eventually getting scolded afterwards)

Movies
Most of the decisions to watch movie are the spot decisions. Each time a new movie is released,we three room partners ensure that the cinema hall doesn't miss us.

Ear phones
Music is a part and parcel of life. Be it classrooms, hostel rooms, road,or tea shops, earphones are plugged and the playlist never gets over.

Abnormal Life
Submishinzzz
Submissions are the most unwanted part of the semester. A time when we clumsily end up our files and submit it. But the torture begins there,viva+re-viva+again re-viva. Plus making silly reasons out for low attendance. Phew... sleepless nights during the weekdays over that period.

Studying Engineering
Engineering is usually studied at three occasions: internals,Mid-semester and End-semester. These study sessions lasts from 8 pm to 10 am in the morning. And then rushing to exam hall. Night outs usually witness texting+facebook+twitter(in my case).

There are times when we're under pressure and times when elated. Engineering changed my relationship status with life:it's complicated now.

Getting Motivated

"Life is a RoLlErCoAsTeR. Full of ups and downs."

Unfortunately we don't find the same sort of situations around us all the time. Getting low emotionally is a common problem faced now-a-days. I am no exception and I get upset sometimes, due to peer pressure, some fights, failures, fatigue etc. However getting motivated keeps the me going ahead in this journey of life.

"Survival=Life-motivation."

I would like to share things which inspire/motivate me:

1.Parents: My parents always motivate me when I need it. They listen to my problems and give solution. Their experience and wisdom help me to solve problems and they give the necessary support to stand up when I fall down. There are innumerable ways in which they inspire me. Our parents are god in disguise.

2.Biographies: I love to read and watch biographies. Great men have faced immense pressures, opposition and criticism. But their tenacity and enthusiasm has made them overcome the opposition. This attitude of theirs really inspires me to go ahead in life.

3.Poems: I got introduced to poems most probably due to academic studies, but I have a special interest for them. Reading them gets me to a good mood. Poems are short and concise, a few lines can do the job what sometimes large numbers of  pages can't.

4.Quotes:  Quotes provide us meaningful and thoughtful excerpts about life, friendship, family and numerous                          other topics. They motivates us when we are down with failures or pressures. The easiest source to find quotes is twitter search

5.Nature: The last source of motivation which I wold like to share is nature. Everything in this world which almighty has created inspire us. Right from a simple flower, bee or a cute animal to the eclipses, nature makes a great attempt to refresh our mood and motivate us in life.

Childhood Euphoria

"Give me some sunshine, give me some rain, give me another chance,I want to grow up,Once again"

Every time I come across these lines,I am filled with a strong sense of euphoria and nostalgia. Most probably because childhood remains the best phase of our life.
Fear? What the hell is that?

Most of our childhood activities involve a carefree attitude,no risk calculation, enthusiasm and inquisitiveness, and the word "fear' remains alien to our dictionary.

Happiness: do we need a reason for that? Really?
As a child,we never wanted a reason to be happy, actually we already had infinite reasons to be happy,be it the simple sunset, spotting a chameleon, watching earthworms, numerous games and a trillion other reason. Endless reasons and infinite euphoria is what filled up our hearts.

Childhood Fights
Fighting up all the time and then making it all up. At that time, fights used to be at such personal levels, and now recalling each one of them makes each one of us ROFL!

Hidden artists

We rocked the studio with our attitude. Endless labor and a lot of fun,and considering each one of our creations to be a masterpiece, something which we can never forget.

And it all came to an end
It ended one day,one fine day when we decided to step to the boat of teenage, and end the journey on a happy note. What next? Infinite crushes, heartbreaks, romance, first kiss, excellence in something and a driving ambition to conquer the world.
Yes we moved on in life, but left behind some beautiful memories.

One good idea:
Why don't we all take a dip back to the sea of nostalgia? Go through old childhood photo albums, take a look at the Super Mario game cassette, the old video game,or your old sketch books and feel free once again.

We all are time travelers

All our worries, regardless of their complexity or stupidity, are all linked to one common thing: the future. However, we are bound to face the future,no matter how good or bad it is,and also the time, good or bad, will surely come to an end.
"Be it good or bad, time will come to an end"
This may be a sound sweet to some, and bitter to others, who, quite unknowingly share a common activity, travelling in time.

Will the world end?

May be yes, humans are mortal and the species won't exist up to infinity. Climate change may occur,a giant meteor may strike the earth, may be anything. But one thing is for sure: whatever may be the cause,we are approaching the end one second at a time.

Hmm......so we have limited time.

Given the fact that we are approaching the end, time is surely limited. Enjoy every second of it,cherish each moment, and live it to the fullest. Won't we all like to end it all up in a satisfactory way?

And no time to waste.

Time is too limited,so obviously why waste it? Stop the unwanted quarrels, fights, and selfishness. Why not to make the world a better place.

In the end:

this article comes to an end,you can press the 'x' button of the tab, shut down your laptop/computer,go out and start living, help your fellow time travelers and end it all up on a high note.

Thanks,Bye.
